Unity Stamp Co. Challenge

Hi There Everyone,

So it is no secret.  I love Unity Stamp Co.!!  They have a challenge over at the Unity Stamp Co. Blog which is all about your interpretation of "New Beginnings".

Here is my layout:

This picture is of my wedding day.  I just love this photo and the brick work in the background was my inspiration.

I have used stamps from the January SMAK Kit.  This is what the January SMAK Kit looks like:

I created the brick wall and arch by using a template and Tim Holtz Distress Crackle Paint - Black Soot.  I have stamped the hearts and wrapped twine around them. I used quite a few of the stamps from my kit in various areas of the page.  I stuck all the flowers down with Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots for dimension.  The corner flourishes are Dusty Attic Corner Flourish #2.  Just painted white with Gesso and then misted.

Here are some close-ups:

If you get a chance, stop by Unity Stamp Co. website and check out their Kits of the Month and also the Stamp Of The Week.  I have both delivered here to Australia and it is such great value.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my page!

OK......so I am now addicted!

Hey There,

I have been collecting Copic Markers for the last 6months.  I have quite a few markers now, and I have been wanting to give it a try.

Whilst being on the Helmar Design Team, I am working along side the lovely Carisa Zglobicki.  Her cards are always amazing!!  I asked her where I could get my hands on some boy stamps.  She directed me to Saturated Canary Digis. OMG!!  I love them.  I can buy them and put them onto my computer and use them whenever I like.  They also have a blog for their card challenges.  So I had a look and thought, why not?  I am going to give it a go.  The main factor in this months challenge was simplicity.

Here is my very first card, using Copic Markers for the first time.

OMG!!  I loved the end product, I just wanted to keep coloring in.  So therapeutic.  I stuck the ribbon down with Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive and it worked so well as it dries so quickly.

I was happy with my skateboarder.  I am sure that it is not the perfect way to use a copic, but I am so happy with it.  I made him pop off the page a little by using Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots which is something else I am addicted to.

Big thanks to Carisa for the inspiration!!

Thanks for stopping by.

Holiday Fun - with Scrap the Boys

Today I wanted to share with you my page for this months Scrap the Boys Challenge.  The criteria for this month is:

January STB Challenge

This month we want to know about your boys favourite summer holiday past times. For example, do you spend heaps of time at the beach, do they love relaxing at home, their favourite holiday destination, spending time in the pool and so on...

Here is what I came up with:

I made the grid around the outside of the page, by ruling it up and colouring in alternative squares.  Took me forever!!  My husband came in and started talking to me at one stage and I coloured in the wrong block!!  Covered my mistake...lol.

The boys have so much racing on this slippery slide.

I have used lots of Purple Pumpkin buttons, cogs and heart.

Thanks for checking out my page.

Why not head over to Scrap the Boys and give it a go!!

Here is A "First"!

Hey Everyone,

I have had such a truly inspiring day today!  I just wanted to share.  My fabulous friend and mentor Tracy Weinzapfel hosted the Helmar Live Show on Ustream.  Today we worked on Art Journal Pages.  I had purchased an art journal with the intention of giving it a try.  So today was the very first page in my very first Art Journal.

Wouldn't say that it is fantastic, or perfect or even totally detailed.  But THAT is what it is all about.  Just having a go!  Today was about the art and working without a plan.  And I loved it!

Speaking of first's.  I got to use the Helmar Decoupage and Craft Paste which I have added to my list of favourite things!  The background is a book torn into pieces and glued on!

I used some of my favourite stamps.  This is a Unity Stamp Company stamp from their SMAK Kit.  I am a monthly SMAK kit club member and I love these stamps.

And another Unity Stamp Company stamp.

So my main thought for today is to just try something new.  It is such a wonderful feeling!

Thanks for stopping by!

My Little Mud Monster

Hi There,

Welcome to 2012!!  I know I am a little late aren't I!!  We are 7 days in and where has it gone already?  I am so far behind with my personal blog.  I am going to have so much to share with you in the next couple of weeks!!

So let me start by sharing this project I have done for my Helmar blog.  It is a layout of my little boy, Lucas.

He is such a cute little monster isn't he?  He had so much fun in the mud.  It's hard to keep him out of it!

I wanted to share with you a different technique for using the quilling process.  In this layout, I have used Martha Stewart Fringing Scissors around the edge of the page. I then stamped the edge and using my quilling tool, I quilled almost every 4th fringe inwards.

Here are some close-ups:

Thanks for checking out my page.

And here is to an awesome 2012!!
